Balcan Engineering are world leaders in the supply of lamp recycling systems throughout the world. Founded in 1973 they produced a range of crushers for waste streams such as vial, ampoules, hypodermic needle and lamps. When emphasis on lamps moved to recycling in order to keep mercury out of landfill, they designed and built their own lamp recycling system. Being one of the Uk’s largest lamp recyclers, systems are built from a recycler’s perspective, leading to their success.

With technology moving on in lighting and with traditional fluorescent tubes and bulbs being replaced with LED, current systems do not handle these modern day lights in a way to promote recycling.

Balcan now leads the way with the design and manufacture of the world’s first specific LED processor which produces high value fractions.
